What We Do

What We Do

The focus of the ATF is to strengthen the agricultural production and processing sectors in Namibia by advancing their interests in national, regional and international trade negotiations and agreements.

The ATF employs the services of a Senior Trade Advisor and a counterpart who are responsible for pursuing the objectives of the ATF in consultation with the Management Committee.

How ATF Works

The objectives of the ATF are implemented and promoted through the following actions:

Constant interaction with its members to formulate inputs and comments into trade agreement negotiations, whether existing or under negotiation.
Providing inputs into the formulation and implementation of national trade-related policies as well as regional and international policies or positions affecting Namibia’s agricultural trade.
Convening regular trade meetings that are open to all members as well as invitees to provide feedback on various trade negotiations and relevant issues pertinent to the agriculture sector.
With sponsorship from Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, organising and presenting at quarterly public dialogue meetings with a wide audience comprising Parliamentarians, members of Diplomatic Corps, Governmental Officers, businessmen and the general public.
Participation in conferences at national, regional and international level as well as in trade negotiations to gain insight on topical trade-related issues and to disseminate this information to its members.
